Greta Thunberg has a message - and UK MPs need to hear it
Greta Thunberg is coming to the UK. She started a global school strike movement, Fridays For Future, has addressed Davos, the EU, and met the Pope. On Tuesday afternoon she will be in the House of Commons, and all MPs are invited to attend. How many will turn up?
Please email your MP - you can do so easily via https://www.writetothem.com/ and ask them to attend. A simple personal message is best - you can talk about the school strikes in the UK, particularly in your area, and that young people need to know MPs are listening.
You could also tweet them and ask them to come - and even call their office on Tuesday morning (call 020 7219 3000 for the House of Commons switchboard and ask to be put through to their office, giving your MP's name)
Example email (but a personal one is better)
On Tuesday 23 April, MPs will have the opportunity to hear Greta Thunberg speak at a special meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change at 2pm in the Attlee Suite, Portcullis House. As my MP I am asking you to attend. Around 1.5 million children and young people worldwide attended the school strikes for climate in March - a global movement which started with one girl, Greta, sitting outside the Swedish Parliament. She has since addressed Davos and the EU, and been nominated for a Nobel Peace prize.
Young people across the UK continue monthly strikes, demanding action on climate change, not just for future generations but for those in countries such as Mozambique already suffering the impacts of climate change today. They tell us that much more needs to be done and much faster. This message is backed by scientists. MPs cannot ignore its urgency and their responsibility to listen and act.

I would be very grateful if you could let me know if you will be attending.
